North Country Spider patterns represent both specific insects and also provide a general impression of a struggling creature – food to a fish! As various insects are hatching at certain times of the year, certain patterns tend to “catch more fish” in certain months but please remember, this is not an exact science so use this listing of patterns per month purely as a guide! Click on each month to see a list of patterns that have historically been successful – click on each pattern to view or scroll between the patterns using your mouse wheel … (I have not included a full range of dry patterns on this guide as successful patterns are fairly regional) Some patterns are effective throughout the year - take a look at "Year Round" for details. Spider patterns are not restricted to running water - take a look at suggestions for "Stillwater" flies that consistently take fish ... All patterns are of course available in my shop!
