I grew up in Northern Ireland alongside a trout stream; started fishing and tying flies when I was at primary school. My fly patterns are designed around the impression I believe the fish sees when he is feeding on natural insects and my favourite fly for surface feeding fish is my Reversed Parachute Emerger. It has been successfully tested in the UK for thirty years and in the US for nearly ten years and is an absolutely deadly presentation as a mayfly, midge and caddis emerger for surface feeding trout and grayling. I have had extremely positive feedback from friends in Wales, Ireland, England and Scotland; also from Colorado, Arizona, where there are trout, besides desert, Pennsylvania, where it was the most effective presentation overall for a friend on the spring creeks, spring 2008. It has a reputation for being extremely successful when nothing else works at all. I now have pleasure in offering you my Reversed Parachute Emerger here on the Spiders Plus website. This fly hangs on its hackle in the surface film and sinks the tippet on landing, so degrease the tippet; waterproof the hackle only and carry a big net! Roy Christie, London 2008 |
